You will all be glad to know that the heating has been fixed in Ferryden and so services will be as normal at the three hubs on 15th December. The wind and rain took their toll on the heating system last Friday night but we are grateful to the workmen who came out so promptly on Tuesday to fix the problems. Thanks are also due to the many willing hands at Trinity Church @ Steeple who so readily stepped up to the plate and made all the necessary arrangements to allow joint worship to be moved there.
We also owe thanks to the team who organised the Ceramic Painting and Cake the same afternoon in the Steeple Hall. It was well supported by both families and singles. Painting and chatting was a relaxing way to spend an afternoon - though many of us may feel a bit embarrassed when the ceramic items are returned to us after firing!
That evening was a further success when the town Band and the Song Shop entertained us so professionally, with their mixture of carols and other music, again in the church.
Today, (Wednesday), a Trinity team has led a service at Fordmill Care Home, Hampers have been made up for families which the schools will nominate, the cafe and craft morning has run in Trinity Church @ Hillside and the Philos Cafe has taken place in the Philos Community Hub as well as other activities - and this is just a typical day. Many helpers are required to support all this work. It would be wonderful if there were more people coming forward to help with the many activities that we offer, Please don't wait until someone asks for your help directly. All offers would be greatly appreciated and would help to lift the burden off those who are much busier than they would wish to be.
Remember you can follow all that's on via the church calendar on the website. And have you taken time to follow the prayer advent calendar also available on the website?
News about Sunday services will be blogged on Friday.
